Lexia Hachtmann
Lexia Hachtmann is a figurative painter that deals with the individual in society and the dialectic relation of interior to exterior as well as private to public realm. Recurring topics in her work are isolation, intimacy, threshold, ambivalence and play. Her figures often move through displaced rooms, stage-like spaces of colour that are neither located in- or outside but rather depict moments of the in-between. Her protagonist often seem introverted and disconnected from one another, each in their own space, their own mind; fragile yet present. The use of ambiguous objects and situations on the canvas enable her to create banal and yet uncomfortable situations.
